How can I play your video on my Samsung tablet?

Deanna from MO: Can I download this DVD to my Samsung Android tablet? I ordered the DVD thinking I could use it on my tablet.  Am I overlooking something? Is there a way to do this?

YogaHeart Support: To start, YES, our videos (or any videos) play on most all tablets and smart phones. As you know, tablets do not have DVD drives on them, so the challenge is getting the video “onto” your tablet device or computer.

There are two options: Streaming and downloading

Streaming is the easiest and most popular way to view videos. Streaming is when the video plays on the computer or device, but is actually flowing directly from our server (similar to TV). The advantages are that that video begins playing immediately (allowing a few seconds for “buffering”), and the video is not stored on your device (saving precious space, especially for long videos!). The lone drawback is that a good internet connection is required (slow internet connections cause repeated buffering delays, which can be frustrating). With streaming, the video will not play at all without an internet connection.

HINT: You can bookmark the streaming page on your computer or device, making it easy to find again and again.

Downloading refers to actually saving the video file onto your computer or device, then playing it. A video can be downloaded from the internet, or from a DVD if you have a DVD drive on your computer. Once downloaded, the video permanently resides on the computer or device. The advantages of downloading are that you do not need an internet connection or a DVD drive to play the video, and there is no “buffering.” The drawbacks are that you need to load the video onto the computer, which can take many minutes depending on the speed of your computer and/or internet connection, and the video will take considerable space on your hard drive. While this is not so much an issue on computers, tablets and smart phones have limited and precious storage capacity.

After downloading any video to a computer, a program such as iTunes (available for PC and Mac users) can transfer (sync) the video to your tablet or smartphone. This process also modifies the file type to ensure it is compatible with your specific device.

So, Deanna, sorry to be so long-winded, but hopefully this will make everything more clear for you!
