Do you offer training for teaching seniors?

Sue (Maryland): I just found your website and found it sooo very interesting. I’ve been practicing yoga for 4 years. On my last birthday I set a personal goal of getting my teaching certification and I’m very proud to say that on Sept 26th, at age 60, I received my RYS certification! When I committed to the training it was a personal goal with no intention of teaching but I learned so much…I can’t keep it to myself. I must share this wonderful thing called yoga with my friends and family…many of them have the desire but have limitations of arthritis and/or knee and shoulder injuries. My question is: Do you offer training for teaching seniors? Or which one of your videos would best teach me gentle movements to guide them through? Thank you for any suggestions.

Susan: Thank you for your interest in Yoga for the Young at Heart! You apparently had the same experience as I did with taking a teacher training for yourself and then wanting to share it with friends and family. That’s exactly how I got started on my yoga journey…I just wanted to teach my mother, and it certainly took over my life! …and I’m so grateful!

I don’t have any teacher trainings scheduled at this time, but you’re welcome to use any ideas you glean from my programs. Yoga is about helping each other, so please let me know if I can coach you in any way.

It sounds to me like you’re off to a great start and your heart is in it, so I know you’ll be a wonderful teacher!
