Michael: I’m 62, and have had two total knee replacements, one on each knee.  Which program would you recommend for me?

Susan: Congratulations on your new knees, Michael!

I would suggest you consult with your doctor about restorative and strengthening exercises for your knees. Be sure that he/she is supportive of the yoga you’ll be doing and that you won’t injure yourself.

I have taught a number of people with knee replacements and they do very well in my classes, and their knees are almost as good as new. When your doctor or physical therapist gives you the “green light” you could start with my “Yoga for the Young at Heart” DVD class. Just do what feels good and take it easy. Be gentle with yourself.

I’m sure you’ll be able to do the complete Basic Series before you know it!
