Susan: I’m sorry to hear that you’re in pain with your back. I can relate to that…it can be debilitating.
Yoga can certainly help you to increase the blood flow to the area, which will increase the health of your discs and give you more flexibility. Just be very careful to listen to your body and be very gentle with yourself.
I strongly recommend that you consult with your doctor before doing any new exercise program and ask what types of stretches will be beneficial for you, and what to stay away from.
I know from personal experience that developing spinal health is a process, so patience and awareness are your most important allies.
Yoga does help to heal in miraculous ways!
